Duo retire from Growth Hub

New Anglia Growth Hub has said goodbye to two staff with over 9 years’ worth of combined service.
Much-loved colleagues Nigel Best, Growth Hub manager, and business adviser William Millar have retired.

Nigel Best, who joined the team in 2017, retired at the end of January, having taken the Growth Hub to its next level of success, in its support of Norfolk and Suffolk businesses.
Former senior business adviser for the Growth Hub, Richard Glinn, has since taken over as the Growth Hub’s new manager.
‘Nigel and William have helped New Anglia Growth Hub become a huge success in supporting over 9,000 Norfolk and Suffolk businesses. Their expertise will be sadly missed and I wish them both well in their retirement,’ said Jason Middleton, programmes manager for the New Anglia LEP.
William Millar worked with the Growth Hub as a business adviser since its inception in 2014, during which time he had built up a sizeable number of companies which have benefitted significantly from his expert advice.

Senior Business Adviser, Sam Vinyard-Jones, reflected on her time working with her teammate and now friend, William: ‘William has provided colleagues and clients with his abundant knowledge, expertise and experience over the six years he has been working as a Growth Hub adviser. All this wrapped up in layers of kindness and patience – delivered with a big smile, charm and sense of fun!’
Having retired on Wednesday, William plans to spend time with family, including his young grandson, as well as persuing some of his favourite hobbies such as carpentry and drawing.
Both team members have contributed hugely to the 45,000 hours of advice the Growth Hub has provided to businesses across Norfolk and Suffolk.
Colleagues and friends wish both Nigel and William the best of luck in their future endeavours.
