Seamless journey to growth

Exploring options to rebuild her bespoke gowns business Tatty’s Original, owner Tiffany Crosson-Smith applied to the Go Digital Programme. After a positive experience and bold steps, she embarked onto a mentorship with the Growth Hub. Now, Business Adviser Josh Moore coaches Tiffany while she develops her enterprising company in the King’s Lynn area. Read on to find out more about her growth journey.

1. How did you as an owner and the business benefit from New Anglia Growth Hub support?

When I first reached out to the New Anglia Growth Hub, I was looking for ways to rebuild my business after COVID while also navigating pregnancy. I was introduced to the Go Digital programme, which connected me with a mentor to explore how technology could improve my business. This led to the idea of the dress builder on my website – a tool that makes the design process more interactive for brides while also streamlining consultations and sketching. The programme also provided a £500 grant, which I used to bring this idea to life with a web designer.

More recently, I sought support from the Growth Hub again when I was considering moving into a retail space. I was assigned a mentor who helped me work through a business plan and rebrand my business to better align with my ideal customers. Now, with regular mentoring sessions, I have clearer priorities, structured goals, and a stronger vision for growing my shop. My mentor has been invaluable in helping me organise my ideas and turn them into actionable steps.

2. Would you recommend it to others, and why?

I’ve recommended both the Growth Hub and Go Digital to so many people! The Go Digital programme is a fantastic opportunity for small businesses to invest in technology, especially with the grant funding that can help improve things like websites and digital tools. The Growth Hub is an amazing resource, whether you’re just starting out or a growing business looking for support to take things to the next level.

I’ve also attended workshops and courses through the Growth Hub, which are great for learning new skills to improve your business. As a small business owner, you have to wear a lot of different hats, and these sessions help you build confidence in areas where you might not be as strong – like marketing, for example. There are loads of options available, so you can choose what’s most relevant to you.

3. If you didn’t get any Growth Hub support how would that have impacted on your business?

I would have kept going and made it work because that’s the kind of business owner I am but having the Growth Hub’s support has made a huge difference. Being a sole trader can feel isolating at times, and having access to expert guidance has helped me focus my ideas, set a clear direction, and grow with more confidence. Their support hasn’t just helped me work in my business but also step back and work on it, making more strategic decisions rather than just reacting to whatever comes next.
