Suffolk Good Health at Work Programme

Suffolk SMEs Encouraged to Join New Workplace Health Programme

An initiative is open across Suffolk to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in creating healthier workplaces. Running initially for 18 months, the programme is designed to assist businesses with employees at the highest risk of health inequalities, such as those on low incomes or with long-term health conditions. The initiative is being delivered by Get Set UK, a leading people services provider.

SMEs in Suffolk are encouraged to take advantage of the comprehensive support now available. The programme features three key components:

Online Resource Hub – Employers gain access to a dedicated online platform with practical tools, advice, and evidence-based strategies. These resources help businesses implement good work principles such as fair pay, job security, and professional growth opportunities.

Ambassador Network – Businesses can join a community of like-minded employers committed to improving workplace well-being. Participants use a self-assessment framework to measure their progress against six key standards, with tiered recognition awards (bronze, silver, and gold) available as they advance.

Navigator Service – This personalised support service helps SMEs evaluate their workplace challenges and strengths. Through one-on-one guidance, businesses receive tailored advice to enhance employee well-being and foster a healthier work environment.

Healthy employees are the foundation of successful businesses. In 2023, Suffolk lost an estimated 2.1 million working days due to sickness absence, amounting to a £432 million loss in productivity. By participating in this programme, businesses can access vital support to improve employee health, increase retention rates, and enhance workplace productivity.
